For Plumbers
The deadline to complete the continuing education licensing requirements is Nov. 30, 2026. 12 total hours of continuing education (CE) credit are required:
- At least 8 of the 12 hours must be core classes.
- Up to 4 of the 12 hours may be professional classes.
- Must cover safety topics in either a core or professional class.
- May be completed live or online.
UPHCA is a state-approved CE Provider for specialty contractors. With this, the UPHCA can give concurrent credit for both plumbing and contractor licenses.
For Specialty Contractors
The deadline to complete continuing education licensing requirements is Nov. 30, 2025.
Six total hours of continuing education (CE) credit are required:
- Energy Code Class is no longer required.
- 3 of the 6 hours must be must be attended in person.
For HVAC licenses only (S-350):
- 3 of the 6 hours must be specific to HVAC code/topics.
If you install backflow equipment (S-330 & S-410):
- 2 of the 6 hours must be specific to backflow.
The UPHCA is approved to provide credit for the renewal of these specialty contractor licenses: P-200, P-201, S-330, S-350 and S-410.
